Welcome

The Presbyterian Church of Prospect Preschool ministry was established in 1975 to provide a positive, nurturing environment where students can gain the confidence they need for a smooth transition into their elementary school career in an atmosphere of Christian love. Our goal is to help each child grow into the person God is calling him or her to be.

Curriculum

We are currently  partnering with the Slippery Rock School District through a community grant program.  This grant has provided us with an up-to-date reading, math, and handwriting curriculum which transition seamlessly with those currently being used in local kindergarten classrooms. We maintain a working relationship with the Slippery Rock School District kindergarten teachers and administrators which allows us to properly prepare our students for their entrance into a kindergarten program.

School Environment

We strive to create an atmosphere which will help your child grow.  Through the use of  materials and tools such as crayons, paint, Play-Doh, scissors, etc., your child’s creative abilities will be stimulated and muscle coordination and strength developed.  Activities such as games and group discussions will help your child learn to relate to other children and become comfortable speaking in front of their peers.  Stories, songs, science experiments, social studies activities, and field trips are some of our other exciting learning experiences.  Helping the students to grow in their relationship with the Lord is also an important goal for our program.  We start our day with prayer and try to instill in our students an awareness that God is with them and always ready to listen when we need him.
